Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information JVScope collects, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the JVScope website at jvscope.com and the JVScope application (the “Service”). By using the Service or connecting a platform account, you agree to this Policy.
1. Who we are
JVScope is a retention-analytics service for short-form social video operated by Viral Secrets LLC. For any privacy question or request, contact us at michael@journeyviral.com.
2. Information we collect
a. Information from connected platform accounts
When you connect a social-media account (for example, a TikTok account) through that platform's official authorization flow, you authorize us to access a limited set of data from that account. For TikTok, using TikTok's Login Kit and Display API and only the scopes you grant, this may include:
- Basic profile information — your TikTok open ID and union ID,
display name, and avatar (scope
user.info.basic); - Profile details — profile bio, profile link, and verified status,
where authorized (scope
user.info.profile); - Account statistics — account-level totals such as follower count,
following count, likes, and video count (scope
user.info.stats); - Video list and metadata — for your own videos: video ID, title,
description, duration, cover image, share URL, embed link, and available
point-in-time engagement counts (scope
video.list).
We request only the scopes needed to provide the Service, and we do not request permission to post, publish, upload, edit, or delete content. We also process retention and view-duration analytics for videos you choose to analyze, which you provide or authorize us to obtain, in order to generate scores.
b. Authorization credentials
To maintain a connection you authorize, we store the access and refresh tokens the platform issues for your account. These are encrypted (see “How we protect information”) and are used only to read the authorized data on your behalf.
c. Information you provide and usage information
We collect information you enter into the Service (such as videos or metrics you submit for analysis and any messages you send us) and basic technical information generated when you use the Service — such as your IP address, request logs, and app-access authentication — used to operate and secure the Service.
3. How we use information
- To provide the core Service — scoring, analyzing, and alerting on video retention performance for the accounts you connect;
- To maintain your authorized platform connection and refresh access on your behalf;
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service;
- To communicate with you about the Service and respond to your requests;
- To comply with legal obligations and with the terms of connected platforms.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or to build profiles unrelated to the Service.
4. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- Service providers / processors. We use trusted vendors to host the Service and to perform the AI analysis behind our scoring — including cloud hosting, an AI reasoning provider, and a vector-embedding provider — which process data on our behalf under confidentiality and data-protection obligations, and a messaging provider used to deliver alerts you configure. We limit what is shared to what each provider needs to perform its function.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Viral Secrets LLC, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. If Viral Secrets LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
We do not share platform data with third parties for their own independent purposes, and our use and transfer of information received from platform APIs adhere to those platforms' developer terms, including any limited-use requirements.
5. TikTok data — specific commitments
Data obtained from TikTok is used solely to provide the analytics features described in this Policy for the account that authorized the connection. We handle TikTok data in accordance with the TikTok Developer Terms of Service and TikTok's platform policies. We do not use TikTok data to serve one client's information to another; each connected account's data is kept logically isolated to that account. If your authorization is revoked or your account is disconnected, we stop accessing new TikTok data and delete stored TikTok data and tokens as described below.
6. How we protect information
We apply administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the data we hold. All traffic to the Service is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Platform access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest using authenticated encryption (AES-256-GCM), and access to the application is restricted behind authentication. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit access to it.
7. Data retention
We retain personal and platform data only as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. When you disconnect an account or revoke authorization, we delete the associated stored tokens and platform data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see below).
8. Your choices and rights
- Disconnect / revoke. You can revoke JVScope's access from the connected platform's own settings (for TikTok, under your account's app permissions), or by asking us. Revocation stops future data access.
- Access and deletion. You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing michael@journeyviral.com. We will honor valid requests as required by applicable law.
- Corrections. You may ask us to correct inaccurate information we hold about you.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for professional use by adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International users
Viral Secrets LLC operates in the United States, and information we process may be stored and handled there or in other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the updated Policy on this page. Material changes take effect when posted; your continued use of the Service after that constitutes acceptance.
